International Nosocomial Infection Control Consortium

Rabies in Asia Foundation

International Federation of Infection Control

The past twelve months have taught us much about emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases in Pakistan. A deluge of viral hemorrhagic fever has taken the medical community by storm; the graph of HIV/AIDS has risen sharply; cutaneous leishmaniasis in Sindh has become a worrisome problem, as has rabies in rural Pakistan. Multidrug resistant tuberculosis, typhoid and hospital bacteria add to our apprehension over management of these trying concerns. IDs arising from the October 8 earthquake have added to our fears of delayed disaster management.

These and many more issues will be discussed and treated academically as well as pragmatically in the Fourth Conference on Infectious Diseases by experts in these fields. We will have the pleasure of hosting and listening to authorities from India, Singapore, South Africa, UK, USA and Pakistan. Four workshops on important infectious diseases will focus on diagnostic and therapeutic modalities. Moreover, this year we have emphasized surveillance that is recognized as being central to disease management.

In the past three years delegates to the Infectious Disease conferences have gone home satisfied and loaded with precious information over management issues. This year we have widened the curriculum to include sessions for family physicians and ob-gynecologists.

We invite you to register and participate with enthusiasm and welcome you warmly.
